NDEP is a partnership of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and more than 200 public and private organizations.

Papa Ola Lōkahi is one of six National Minority Organizations funded in 2005 to promote diabetes education strategies in Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities.
